Why RandomArt?

“Every child id an artist. The problem is to remain an artist as we grow up!” – PABLO picasso.

RandomArt brings various different art types to the table. Everyone has a bit of art in them, but most of us allow the art to fade away. This is mostly because we are conditioned out of our creativity by societal demands. I have never been one to make money so seriously as to lose sight of being creative just for the sake of it.

“But…” I hear you cry, “I’m not creative!”

Oh yes you are. We are all creative in our own way, but you need to be aware of your creativity and, once you have identified it, it has to be practiced. Creativity is not art, it is a state of mind.

RandomArt seeks to create awareness of art in everyone while creating art in itself. There are two activities in life that are food for the soul. Art & Music. Being a part of either, or both creates a certain peace within you that completes you as a human being.

“There is no ‘therapy’ that surpasses the arts.”

RandomArt has a distinctive purpose. It is to introduce creative thinking into the minds of those that have lost it. Thinking creatively is a skill that promotes growth, problem-solving, progress, resolution, innovation, peace-of-mind, emotional maturity and compassion. It is a tool that to be without leaves you reliant on circumstance and the need for someone else to lead you. Creativity is a path to personal freedom.

A little about RandomArt

RandomArt indulges in four areas of art:

1. Art for the love of it: There are so many categories of art and each one is exciting. You may use oils, acrylic, or watercolor to create a painting, or you may create a sculpture from cardboard to bronze. You can immerse yourself in ceramic art from pottery to mosaic, or adventitious art (the art of creating from things that are just lying around you). And what about responsible art such as recycling and upcycling?

2. Statement Art: Using T-shirts as a medium RandomArt creates statements that are relevant to current affairs, personal statements, brand and artistic statements. T-shirts are canvases in themselves and what you wear says a lot about yourself. Make your T-shirt say something about you.

3. Forest Art: Every forest is filled with materials just lying around that you can use to exercise your artistic skills. The forest offers a beautiful canvas and backdrop to create remarkable things, and you don’t have to be ‘artistic’ at all to enjoy the therapy of Forest Art. Create spectacular patterns, shapes and creatures without ever having practiced art of any kind.

4. Social Responsibility: RandomArt works with homeless street people to empower them with a skill that gives their lives meaning and purpose. The Cardboard Art Project serves 3 purposes. The first to recycle waste cardboard, the second to teach homeless people how to create sellable art, and the third to give them hope.

“Art has the power to transform, to illuminate,

to educate, inspire and motivate.”
